Greetings,

New to the forum but not the hobby. Have been in it for years, have a 300 and a 200 gallon mixed reef tanks. I have a question, need for some advice.

So we had this fast growing reddish blob pop up about 3 weeks ago and I'm just not sure what it is. It's in a cycled tank with lots of coral etc. I have some of the typical hair and a small amount of green bubble algae but this things got me stumped. Thinking possibly a sponge but am not sure, have never seen anything quite like it in my yanks before.

It's purple/red but translucent, feels like a firm jelly fish and is growing rather quickly at about 3 inches now!

Anyone seen something g like this before?

GT

Welcome to R2R! I think you should create another thread in this part of the forum. You should definitely be able to get some answers there
Done - appreciate the tip. This site is pretty vast and being new just wasn't sure where to start.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.
