Hi everyone, I recently just 12 days ago purchased my first nano reef tank, I’m currently in the process of getting it cycled before I add any livestock. I’m hoping to add 2 clowns, a shrimp or crab, and some cuc to the tank soon. I had originally started my cycle using lava rock at my own ignorance and just purchased live rock and swapped it into the tank. I’d also like to add some macro algae to the tank, I’d like to plant it in the substrate and not just stick it in a refugium.

Here’s a pic of my tank as it sits currently, someone gave me a free frag so I threw it in, I don’t think the tank was ready for it but hopefully it’ll be okay. It’s a fluval evo sea 13.5, live sand Fiji pink, and live rock.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I’m definitely gonna have quite a few questions, I’ve been reading non stop the last 2-3 weeks but still need help with clarifying some things so I definitely appreciate feedback and help greatly

@thetrackside - cool handle! Do you live close to a race track or railroad?
My grandma’s backyard was the Long Island railroad tracks, so I spent a better part of the years playing along the track side
