Grouper questions

i have a 48x24x24 tank just starting out. This will be down the road but I really like some of the groupers. Does anyone out there have any in their tank, and what are your thoughts? Which ones would fit in my tank?

I will be having a reef tank with minimal corals.

FYI. I also am wanting a trigger. Not sure if they will go together.

Grouper and trigger typically go together, but most groupers get huge, and do so fairly quickly. Your tank probably isn't big enough for groupers and probably not for many triggers.

I made a mistake of buying a grouper when I was a noob. It would eat multiple cubes of frozen at a time. I thought I was being smart by cutting them up so he wouldn't get so much........so he ate my clown whole.
