Growth Boom After Crash?

I often think back to this past winter when my tank went through a 'semi-crash', as I would call it, when we lost power for over 36 hours during a storm. Water temps dropped into the 50s and I lost a few corals(not as many as I had expected).

However, something I've noticed since then is how monumental my coral growth was immediately following the crash, at least after I got things back on track. I had various Hammers that were 2-3 heads that would shortly grow into 5-6+ heads over the course of just a few months. While my Euphyillia remain very happy, and coral health overall is great. I'm definitely not seeing that level of growth from my Hammers anymore.

Ultimately nothing has changed in my husbandry or upkeep, so I was wondering if there's any biological reason why there may have been a growth boom shortly after a tank crash?

I think that reefs have regular disasters like storms typhoons earthquakes landslides etc…. so I think it’s natural. I’ve broken many corals by mistake or dropped rocks on them etc. and they always grow back stronger. I think that with corals “what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger”.
