Just ordered a new IM 15. So stoked! I had a nuvo 10 in highschool and then got out of the hobby before college. Here I am in college and I wandered into an LFS a week ago and immediately got sucked back in. The girlfriend had to pull me out of the store before I walked out with the IM 50 gallon lagoon lol. Anyway, I decided to stay within in my means and opt for the highly affordable (until I start buying coral at least) IM 15. I think I’m going to make it a dedicated Zoanthid/acan tank, with one euphyllia, a nice monti cap, and a birds nest. As for equipment I’m going to keep it relatively low-tech, with the promise to myself that if I grow a healthy tank in a low-tech manner for a year I’ll allow myself to upgrade. For lighting I’ve been looking at noopsyche, kessil (hate the separate controller), or aqua illumination (heard mixed reviews concerning longevity). I really wish nanoboxreef was still around as I always wanted one of their lights in highschool. Anyway, I’m ordering my rock today so I’ll post an update when I figure out my aquascape.

I decided to commit to the noopsyche k7 which should be arriving in a couple weeks.

Well we need pictures when you get chance, so look forward to those

Welcome. Tons of info here. I just started a build with that tank too

Any updates?
Yes actually. I cut out a piece of cardboard to work on my scape and I hated the dimensions of the tank. To tall and narrow for my liking and I realized I would’ve been unhappy long term. I decided to cancel my order and get a 25 lagoon. It’s wet and cycled I’ve just been really busy with school so I haven’t deleted this thread and started a new one lol.

I would have picked a 25g lagoon myself but I got a space limitation because I live in a small condo ..had to go with the 15g

This is just to get my feet wet in the reef world

That’s fair. I had a 10gal nuvo and loved it. Luckily the equipment for a 15g and a 25g are really similar so if you ever make space and upgrade you can do so much more Affordably. I remember when I set up that 10g I absolutely didn’t care about the dimensions, I was just thrilled to have a tank running! I’m sure you will have the same experience as that. Best of luck! Are you starting a thread?

I have a thread ... haven't really update it much

Waiting for black Friday for equipment sale
