Gsp flow on back wall??

How to get flow on back wall? Just glued some gsp here and thinking it wont get good flow.

Nero 3 on right wall. Should I angle is to push flow directly along the back of tank?

GSP don’t need (or even like) direct flow.

Because the wall is a terminus point for the water, you will naturally get some flow.

Not to mention debris won’t accumulate on the GSP since gravity will bring it down anyways.

I'll disagree a little bit from the above post. GSP like enough flow to keep detritus from settling on them, and kind of choking them out, so to speak. I am thinking that when placed on the vertical back wall of the tank, they may do well under less flow because detritus doesn't have as much of a chance to settle on GSP growing vertically on the glass.

EDIT: I wouldn't stress too much over flow for GSP. This is typically a coral that does very well in a wide variety of conditions

I wouldn't put direct flow on it but mine on the back wall does like to move around. I love it because I can tell my powerheads are running since the SPS doesn't sway.

This is very true. I have some of the same GSP on rocks and it even with enough flow to keep it waving I blow it off every few days and get a snow storm of detritus. I thought about not blowing it off but an not sure if it would build up to the point it harms the coral.

I disagree as well. Any picture I’ve ever seen of GSP where they are super happy they are moving lol

But unfortunately, they have been glued to the back wall now for about 12 hours and they have still not opened up

This is awesome and exactly what I’m talking about! So where is your flow coming from? What is the angle?

Thank you! The toadstool was open and happy last night and then today it hasn’t opened up yet, but the gsp has a few polyps opening. Its so hard to get on camera

Dang well hopefully they’ll start looking better. I had a toadstool that opened up within a couple of hours, but has since closed and I haven’t done anything different. All my parameters look good too.

My toadstools are more moody than GSP lol. I have a pretty large one that spends more time shedding than it does looking happy. But it seems to be larger after each shed.
