Gsp growth

How do I control gsp. Right now it's on it's own island. It's growth is picking up and exploding as I can see new growth spreading across the sand towards the main rock work. How do I cut it with out harming it?

It will peel up and just cut or rip a piece off. You won't hurt it trust me. We have had GSP for years.i just had to trim ours that we have growing on our overflow. I put some in my mother-in-law tank. Within a week it already started growing. They might stay closed for awhile but they will open.

Most people do exactly as you have done. [emoji3] Keep it on a seperate rock and just take a razor blade and trim it back when it spreads too far on the sand. Some LFS will take it back for store credit.

My favorite LFS didn't have any frags at the time. I got my long tentacle GSP by convincing my favorite LFS to just rip a piece of it off the rock it was on. I stuck it where I wanted it with a rubber band and waited 2 weeks. [emoji2]

The alternative to keeping it off the rocks is starting it at the highest point from the beginning.
