I am intrigued by these RP-M pumps; do you think that I would be able to create gyre flow if I put the RP-M high on one side of my 6' 125g and put my two Tunze 6045 nanostreams low on the opposite end? I do not have a huge amount of rock, and the return flow would be high on the same side as the RP-M. Thank you!

@LeslieP you can get a Jebao Cross-Flow pump for around $130, which is pretty much identical to a gyre (minus the controller features) for less cost than that.

(if you are looking for gyre flow on a budget)

The rpm are very wide flow, so the flow doesn't go far into the tank like one would want for a gyre. However I am big fan of the rpm and that mass water movement but for this application there are better choices.

That is good information. I don't necessarily have to have gyre movement, but I do want to up my flow. I'm more of an LPS kind of gal so I don't have to have the higher flow that is best for SPS

Thr rpm is probably perfect for that!

That pump is the Coral Box RN-1 pump and I have one and it was the noisiest powerhead I have ever bought. now it's sat in my office in it's box.

Dang that is too bad you had a bad experience. I am running 3 of the reefbreeder versions (rpm) in my Waterbox 100.3 and have liked them.
