hair algae control?

hey í am about to get a kole tang and í wondered how effectively they eat hair algae?

just to elaborate a little help you, I dealt with some hair algae. A clean up crew of turbo, trochus, astrea and some hermit crabs will get the small new hair growth. If you don’t mind it eating your coralline, an urchin will do an even better job. I didn’t want an urchin because I am enamored with coralline on everything.

Even with all that, you may still need to attack the rocks with a toothbrush every few days to keep things tidy.

Tangs will pick at algae but i’m not convinced they will remove it.

Do you have corals? Turning my lights off for a week helped me with mine in the past. The ol toothbrush rock scrubbing is helpful too.

I have 3 Tangs plus a Foxface and plenty of GHA and they won't touch it with a 10FT. Pole. Tuxedo Urchin will though.
