Hair algae on my cheato

So my cheating is growing fine, kinda slowed down a bit but not much in tank yet.

But it's growing lots of hair algea on it.

Should I reduce the amount of time my light is on over sump?

Can you get a photo of it? Maybe pull a small amount out of the fuge and put it in a bowl for the photo.

Are you really sure it hairy algae? That normally attaches to more solid surfaces like rocks, glass, pumps, sometime sand. I'm wondering if it isn't a different algae or even a bacteria bloom?

I also accumilate some hair algae in my chaetos. I run my fuge light only 4-5 hrs per day. However, in my next chamber, I'm runnig a DIY algae scrubber.

Looks kinda like dinos. But I’m not sure. That would be a lot of dinos lol.

Definitely doesn't look like hair algae.
Does this refugium have very little flow through it ?

I so wanted to say that it doesn't look like hairy algae to me either. But I didn't want to stick my foot in my mouth without backup or help! LOL!

It looks slimy and that makes me think maybe a bacterial bloom?

Um it is relatively low flow yes.....

low flow will do that in a fuge, slime and other junk will float on the surface and things just get yucky :)

So in that first pic, that's semi typical in there. Like pom poms in a bunch of areas. So should I increase flow? It's enough to tumble the ball of cheato....
Less light? Pull cheato and replace with new?

I think it would be OK to pull as much of the yuck & ha Ya can & see how it goes from there . I have the same issue& just pulled as much as I could.
