I have a Doughboy for sell. Been in my tank since early February and both are the size of a half dollar or 1 1/4”. Bright! Doughboy especially. Pic isn’t even full blue spectrum, taken late afternoon, early evening under Radion.

299$. Price dropped to move.

It’s a doughboy. Not a King Kong, I have King Kongs. I figured this would happen but it’s all good. DM if you’re interested.

Agreed it doesnt look quite like a doughboy in the photos provided but to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, I found this photo that shows a natural baby doughboy next to its mommas and it looks to be similar for a juvenile.

doesn’t really have the look of a doughboy tbh
Doughboy’s grown from a baby and Doughboys fragged vesicles can look different, bigger or smaller. Some Doughboy’s start to develop the distinct minus symbol tip or small orange circle tips earlier than others. Another tell is the green mouth, sometimes the mouth isn’t as prevalent as other times. This is a Doughboy. If y’all saw it in person, how bright it is. It would very likely resolve your doubts. That’s not possible so… here we are. lol

Look fella’s, I’ve been reef keeping for 30 years. I’ve seen plenty of Yuma’s, Bounce Yuma’s, no name bounces, Godzilla’s, Kongs, Doughboy’s, Doughgirls of all sizes the past few years. Like I said in the other comment. I thought this might happen and it’s all good. But I’m not asking for identification. So please, if you interested but have questions, cool. DM me. If you have doubts, don’t buy it and you’ve voiced your doubts. After including an invoice from the reputable vendor I purchased from but ok. Not a huge deal but I just ask to respect my sell thread please. Thanks.

I agree doesn't look like a doughboy to me, i have 1 1/2 dollar size and it has very noticeable patterns as pictured above. I'd be talking to the vendor you bought it from.

😐 Seriously? It’s absolutely a Doughboy. The Doughboy police strikes again. This honestly is getting ridiculous and I’m seeing why the R2R selling forum is dying.

I have expertise from 30 years of reef keeping. Been on the site for a decade. The Doughboy has been around for a long time now. Have seen many, many bounce mushrooms, including Doughboys. There’s not one characteristic of a Doughboy missing, because it is a Doughboy.

Random, gradual tentacles placement. Check.
Bright small orange tips like a flashlight and a nice green lower. Check.
Bright green mouth. Check.
An invoice from a reputable dealer. Check.

Still, you have a Doughboy so you can say it might not be a Doughboy and your vendor was wrong. No. They weren’t wrong, it’s a Doughboy, I don’t need too. You’re an expert obviously, so you would know par, flow, nutrients can all effect the look of ANY coral. Right? Please tell me one thing, that backs your claim? Just one… I don’t see that happening. But you still get to give me a hard time, lowering the price and chances of selling my favorite coral because I need the money. Thanks.

And the mods. Where are they? I sent a message about this bs. Nothing.

This isn’t a Doughboy? Right….

Honestly, I would reach out to the 'reputable dealer' and be the doughboy police-member yourself rather than defending your position here.. If this aint a doughboy: https://rlutah.com/products/king-ko...fIgxcTSCj1ogC4CIJqLfbCcr2pS2MRuj7ARTy-VOTuLdX , what you have is definitely not a doughboy

It 100% is a Doughboy, you don’t know what you’re talking about. You posted a link to a King Kong in who knows what kind of Par and flow, that looks nothing like my Doughboy as proof?
Preciate you ruining my sale thread tho.

You know how I know it’s a doughboy? Because I know what Doughboys and King Kongs are. I have a King Kong. If you didn’t know, it’s actually obvious when you see the two in person. Like I’m looking at right now in the photo.
You know how else I know, the Vendor showed me lineage from Arimiko. He actually offered to send it by email but I said “nah, surely the invoice from you is enough if I need to sell.” Boy was I wrong. But thanks a lot!

lol are you serious? It looks like mine. Do you know that par and flow and nutrients can affect the look of a Doughboy? Any coral actually. I’m not saying King Kongs can’t look like a Doughboy. But there are easy tells but when young a lineage, mother, or seeing the coral in person is the best ways.
You are trying to play spoiler. Why would you do this? Like I said, I checked out the lineage. Don’t start on Vince from GHI, he’s a good dude and knows what he’s doing.
