been dealing with this issue for a month. Setup is an icecap 400w eballast, Hamilton Cozumel reflector and radium 400 bulb.

The ballast has an internal breaker that just randomly trips. Icecap replaced the ballast and same issue is happening with the new one. I’ve tried in several circuits on the house to make sure it isn’t an issue with an overloaded circuit but it happens on low use circuits as well. The ballasts run really hot as well.

Hoping someone can offer some guidance

Bulb? Just curious if it's a strange bulb.

Usually sparks or a “burn” type mark

How does you ballast connect to the pendant?

So if it was me what I would do is

Leave the ballast plugged in by itself

If it blows you know there is problem from with that equiptment either the ballast itself or the plug that runs to the wall

If it doesn’t pop slowly add each part until the fuse blows then carefully inspect each part that was newly added when the fuse blew to find out what is causing it
