Well so far, the lazy guy is definitely more active. Still not as much as the other but a big change from before.

I was so excited that the active one was sizing up a new shell. He spent at least 30 minutes feeling it, turning in, getting part way in it...but he gave up and didn’t switch. I guess he didn’t like it. He was checking out another non- cone shell too. I’ll put the smaller ones in, just in case he likes those better and I have some bigger ones coming.

I think they wait until the inside of the new shell has that aged in saltwater smell and feel.

Thought I'd update on my halloween hermits. Sadly, I recently lost one during a molt. That was a bummer. The other is doing pretty well though. He still hasn't changed shells though I left them in the tank.

I just received two more today from Live Aquaria. Put them in, and one has already switched shells with one of my bigger shells! That was pretty cool to see. He must've been really cramped in his old shell - it was pretty small. So now one of my orange and white fancy shells is tooling around the tank LOL.

Dang, these new guys are funny! First one who switched shells instantly went back after a couple of hours into his old shell. For like 30 minutes and then back in the new shell!

Guy #2 spent most of the day in between two rocks hiding. He finally comes out and parks on top of my RFA. So I move him and realize he picked up a tiny RFA that I thought was long since dead. Funny...so I set him next to one of the other empty shells and he instantly switched shells. So they’ve been in the tank for less than 11 hours and already swapped shells.
