Just throwing this out there has anyone ever used halogen lighting for anything in a reef tank? Just a thought .
 
3000k not good for corals and high temp when running.
 
Definitely not. Tugsten-halogen = 3623 K. Quartz Halogen = 3200k. You need lighting to be in the 10k to 14k range.
