Hammer coral half good half bad

I have a new hammer coral that has three different extensions on it. One of them is doing great, the other half good, and the last one is completely deflated but doesn’t seem dead. I adjusted my flow recently because it was too much which I believe caused deflation and it helped one of them a lot. Any tips on what to do or if one of them is done for?

I'm sorry friend but none of those polyps are doing well, one is actually dead. Maybe if you can share your parameters and type of lighting and flow and tank age, it will help find the cause. How long have you had this hammer?

But seeing those long shadows and seeing how clean the substrate is, my first concern is that its not getting enough light. All that algae on the rocks is also concerning. Can you describe your lighting and intensity and duration?

Thanks for the reply. Salinity is 1.026. I need to test everything else it’s been a couple weeks. Ai prime light about 8 inches above water line with custom settings and intensity is around 50%. I had it low with more blues to start because that’s where it came from when I bought it. The lights are on for 12 hours with ramp up and down. I’ve had the tank for two years. The algae was a problem for a while and I left it on the rocks but the reason the sand is so clean now is I added Trochus snails and they’re starting to clean the rocks. My candy cane coral is doing great however. I have flow built into the tank but it’s not strong at all so I have a small wave maker but it seemed way too strong so I lowered it. The hammer is only a week old and two of them didn’t do well in transport they’ve never been out much since buying them.

EDIT: If you only had it for a week, it might have been sick before you got it. And if it was shipped then it might have damaged the coral during shipping. Sorry for you, maybe try submitting a claim to the vendor. Good luck

I agree with @Mr. Mojo Rising but you need to test aswell. Alkalinity and calcium are very important values to know for euphyllia.

Ya that might be the issue. I’ll try turning the lights up a bit and see if that helps. It’s a 12 gallon tank I’m wondering what filtration you have on your nano?

I agree with @Mr. Mojo Rising but you need to test aswell. Alkalinity and calcium are very important values to know for euphyllia.
