What kind of flow is it in? Any pests around the base. Ok looks like a wall hammer. I’d move to low flow and observe for pests around base.

Also check parameters. Mag for sure.

It does in excessive amounts. 1500 and up.

Wall hammers are one of the most difficult Lps to keep.

Plus 1! By far the hardest euphyllia we've kept. Almost 2 years before it perished, stuck with branching after that.

Wall hammers are terrible. Branching are built like tanks. Sometimes ur only mistake could be that u bought a wall and not a branching. Just my 2 cents

Agreed, wall hammers rank up there with elegance in regards to difficulty keeping. Most of the questions I'd ask have been asked. Parameters, lighting and flow and check for pests :)

How about Phosphate aka PO4?
Your water may be way to clean as euphyllia like dirty water.

The wall hammer is a little over a year old. We was cleaning the tank and stirred a lot of sand up and it started detaching.

If no3 is 0 and phosphate is low that could be part of the issue. Lps like water with some nitrate and phosphate in it.

But the coral has been thriving in the same water conditions for over a year. If I put it in low light and low flow will it reattach or can I reattach it somehow?

That's a wall hammer for you to be honest. That's how ours went, doing well then polyp bailout from the right to left. Took 3 weeks total while all other euphyllia grew like weeds.

It could if the issue is resolved before the rest has polyp bailout.

Fragging a wall hammer usually doesn't end well. In this case I think it would lead to the demise of your coral much faster.
