Hammer coral, will it heal?

So, I recently (3 days ago) purchased my first hammer coral, just a small one head frag and it accumulated very happily to the tank, made sure to put it in an area with good moderate flow. Water parameters are fine, 13.5 gallon nano.

salinity: 1.025
nitrates: 0.2
phosphates: 0.10
kh: 160
calcium: 500
lighting: Ai Prime HD16


My problem is that I did not have an ato system set up and I have been added 3 cups of fresh water to the tank every day. Although, I left and wasn't home enough quickly to fill the tank up, and the hammer got stressed from the change in salinity. I do now have an ato system set up, did a water change as soon as I got home. Only half of the hammer seems to be open. My question is with good water nutrients will the hammer heal? Or is he a goner? I really should have had the ato setup before purchasing more sensitive coral, I now know. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Keeping things stable will help any coral thrive. If the salinity is what was bothering it I'm sure it will be fine (keeping it stable going forward). I would also give it a week or two to acclimate to your tank more. It may just be getting used to things still :D

I would give it a few days, 3 days isn’t that long for it to get settled in. What’s your water parameters? If lighting flow and parameters are all within range it should recover. But stability is key. No sudden changes, and I think it would recover fine.
