Curious why does some hammer extend long tentacles and some stay tight like a Bush. And is there a way to tell if indo or aussi hammers.

Sweepers, reaching out to sting and keep its area clear... usually I’ll see one or two that are 2-3 times long than the rest. Your pic looks like some tentacles are stretching for light, but that’s just my guess.
I have it off to side under hydra 52

Have also found more flow more compact. Less flow the more they stretch and expand. That one does seem to have some long tentacles. Nice looking hammer nonetheless
I have it under hydra 52. And pic I posted is how it was in local reefers tank. My tank seems to extend same way. This is under lights whites on right now

Looks like a nice piece. All three of mine just recently split into two heads

Mine just looks like an ice cream cone. Sits in the back left corner in my tank under about 170par with med flow. Seems to be very happy where it’s at and has definitely gotten more puffy than it was at the LFS. I’ve had it for about 3 months now.
