Brand new, put in tank last night, opened up fine.
This morning it looks like this...

Is it dead?
Ignore the hermit in the back.

The only way to help we need your water parameters. It's probably something bad for a coral to go from open to totally gone

While it does look dead atm, leave it in the tank. I had one that looked just like it and after a couple months it started growing again, seemingly out of dead skeleton. Now I have 2 heads of nice hammer coral.

I’m really hoping it bounces back, that was a $40 frag.

Don’t see how parameters are relevant ...it’s already dead

Possibly to save the rest of the livestock in the tank. If theres a parameter way off this coral may just be the start.

I’m referring to this situation. I don’t know the rest of his livestock

there is always that chance when we move fish/corals they will not make it. Another reefer on here and I went to Austin and each bought a orange hammer frag. He put his in his tank (which is perfect) and I placed mine in my tank. His died and mine is still alive. Its hard to explain sometimes. When I frag my euphyllia I always frag two heads, they seem to do better than single head.

Looks good to me... what kind of fish do you have in the tank? Anything that nips at coral? Any chocolate chip starfish?
