Hammer corals look very different

the hammer on the left I’ve had for a long time. It has never been fluffy or anything similiar to the one on the right, I got that one 2 days ago. My question is why would one not be fluffy or nearly as impressive, they both have 3 heads. I will note that the hammer on the left never displayed like the one on the right, not even when I bought it at the lfs but I didn’t know Better at the time. It is happy and growing, just curious why it’s like this
