Hammer not extending

Ever since I removed a piece of branch rock from behind my hammer it hasn’t been in much flow and it has been a lot smaller. It’s almost been 2 weeks since I removed it and I hasn’t gotten any bigger. It still has the same coloration and seems fine. I have also been slowly ramping up my lights for new sps but it started before that.

I had a feeling, I heard they can adjust if it’s done slowly enough? Or should I just turn them down?

So I should bring them down from where they were before and raise them a tiny bit each week?
