Hammer not looking good

Hi,

I just introduced a neon tip torch yesterday and looks like my purple hammer is not happy this morning.

Below is the pic i took this morning when its not open (check white part at the top, below is a tubeworm)

Below is to give an idea of placement (sorry for the blue). Not seen them touching and the purple hammer is further away than the green one. Nor did i notice any sweeper tentacle at night (the torch came in yesterday and not even fully open)

Could this be due to chemical war or proximity or isolated issue? Also, I did see something stringy coming out of the hammer last night only once.

The stringy stuff is nothing to worry about unless there’s a ton of it and then it could be brown jelly (not the technical name) and could mean very bad things for the hammer. As far as the torch... they are mean and flowy and chances are if it’s anywhere near that hammer it probably stung it. If that’s the case it’s not the end of the world just move on of them, the hammer will recover.

Looks like it opened up properly with nothing visible at the moment. Not sure what that was.

I will try to move the torch to a different place tonight.

I had the same thought that you had when I brought home my torch, I wanted to place it near the hammer so I could have some good movement in the tank, but after talking with my son, we decided to place them a little further from eachother. good thing we did cause when the torch finally settled in, the tentacles really stretched out and had a pretty decent reach to them.

True, i have spread them apart now.
