Hammer Skeleton damage

Have a hammer coral that is getting holes and showing damage. I’m gonna take it out and treat for the aphasia and the vermitide snails on it. Any recommendations on further treatment?

Can't see much in your blue picture. You could dry off the exposed skeleton and apply gel glue over the damaged area and cover holes to help reinforce the skeleton.

When you say gel glue… like the api glue?

Is that cyanoacrylate? Then yes.

aiptasia and vermetids would not create those holes.

What I am assuming is that vermetids created tubes ON the surface of the skeleton of the hammer, and once they died, they left the empty tubes that makes it look like there are holes in the skeleton.

Unless you are sure the holes are in the skeleton themselves, i don't see a problem.

And not many things can create holes in LPS skeletons; maybe something like a boring clam?

No, it’s definitely holes, I took it out. Did a medical dip on it and a hydrogen dip just to kill off anything now I guess I’m gonna put glue on.

Yeah seeing the same skeletal failure on these. Any thoughts? It’s like the skin is failing
