I do use the Hanna ULR P checker and agree it's a PITA to get all of the powered reagent into the cuvette. How critical is it to get the entire amount of powder reagent in?

Can't answer your question but I put a very small funnel in the cuvette and cut the packet open on 2 sides. This way I get pretty much all the powder in the cuvette.

I never have much issue getting the powder reagents into the vials. I just cut 2 sides and use the packet as a funnel by creasing the side. Most just pours right in, then a few taps to help along the rest. I've heard that you don't need 100% of the packet for it to work properly.

Comparing to a salifert test, I get results within the margin of error for both tests.

I do agree that the Alk test is by far the simplest one to use. Water to the line, 1ml liquid reagent, invert a few times, push the button. I get similar results to salifert as well, but more consistent.

I bought the Cal test before I read people having issues with it. I haven't tried it yet. I also got it cheap, so I figured why not? If it sucks, I'll keep using the titration tests.

Sounds like a broken record but I agree with the majority. Hanna Alk and ULR phosphorous are great. I like Salifert for Calcium (very fast and easy) and Magnesium (still easy but not as fast). If your nitrates are below 5 consistently I like Red Sea but Salifert for nitrates isn't bad.
