I tried the following method to determine whether my HI782 is accurate.

Prepare the test solution by combining 9.5 mL of synthetic seawater (compliant with ASTM D1141 specifications) with 0.5 mL of a 100 mg/L NO3-N standard solution, resulting in a nitrate concentration of 22.13 ppm.I used the HI782 to take a reading and obtained a value of 16.3 ppm.Is this reading normal? It looks like it far exceeds the margin of error allowed for the HI782.Is there a problem with my reagents?

Duplicate thread.

As I suggested in the other one, I think one should not assume that folks will get accuracy exactly matching Hanna’s claims, and the results look pretty good to me for reefing purposes.

All Hanna checkers have a +/- of blank for that specific test. I wouldn’t worry too much, unless it’s like 50 or 0
