I have been using refractometer for couple months now and been calibrated by refracto juice to 35ppt. Just purchased Hanna salinity checker and calibrated using provided fluid. Tested my tank it shows 30ppt on my Hanna and 35ppt on refractometer. I am confused on which on is more accurate. Any suggestions

What does the hanna say for your refracto juice? Is it 35ppt or is it lower too? I only use hanna these days but this reminds me that I need to calibrate again. 🙂

I would imagine using a standard for a refractometer would not give the best results when used with a conductivity meter.

I've had two of the hanna salinity checkers and if I use the hanna calibration fluid to calibrate they both read 0.002 low after calibrating compared to a TM hydrometer and two calibrated refractometers.

EDIT: I use to use Randy's diy calibration fluid. I just never trusted the ones sold in stores. I mix water every week and now that I trust The TM hydrometer I use that and mix my water to 1.025 then use that water to calibrate the refractometers.
