Has Anyone Every Resealed A Tank?

Hi I'm asking this question for a friend. He's has a 250 gallon tank that has a pinsize hole in the front corner of his tank and wanted to know if anyone had advice on how to reseal it? If it's possible, he'd like to reseal the whole tank. Is this safe or should he just get rid of it?

you "can" reseal it but it isnt for the feint of heart imo. make sure ALL silicone is removed and use rubbing alcohol to get any residue off the seams. (think csi removal). be generous with the calk and let it cure for 2-3 weeks. even if the silicone states 24 hour cure.

i would also advise testing it outside just incase there is an accident. let it hold water another week.

make sure to assemble the panels correctly

+1, also order momentive RTV silicone. It cures stronger, still wait the two weeks though.

I also used the rtv silicone that reef junkie used. Works well but make sure you are in a well ventilated area because it smells a ton and makes your eyes water.
