Hi Folks,

I just got a medium sized IceCap Pro turf scrubber and because of the size of my stand (36"x36") i need to mount it extnerally. Given the white acrylic, it basically lights up the entire room like a giant white night light.

Has anyone tried painting it back with something like the Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray that is meant for use on plastics? Obviously I would only paint the outside and tape over the ball valve. I am hoping that it is opaque enough to attenuate the brigness of the scrubber so my fish/coral can have a proper day/night cycle.

Best,

Drew

I have used IceCap skimmer and I understand your issue. Like any plastic you will probably want to sand it or etch it in someway for the paint to stick. Also, the salt creep may be an issue with the paint. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Oh, and let us see pictures if you do it!!! :)
