I've done kalk in my ATO reservoir and thru a dosing pump. Both are fine assuming your evap rate is somewhat regular. Since my new tank is only a 60 cube and I had a head available on my doser I deciding to just dose a set amount daily, a litre a day over 48 doses. Kalk is so simple, cheap and easy I wouldn't have a tank without some kalk going into it. I also dose Bionic 2 part plus mag to make up the difference.

So oddly enough I just read a thread where a guy had his Versa crack due to Kalk. @GainesvilleReef can you comment?
That's crazy :(! Similar to what Randy recommended, my Versa is upstream of my reactor and pushes fresh RODI into the reactor. I haven't had any issues yet.

Very nice looking tank! Love the double island structure! I think the kalk 2-part combo sounds like a successful option.
Thanks! Kalk is really nice for the PH boost I get with it!

Seems like a great day to do it! Do you have it running constantly at a very slow rate or is it turning on/off throughout the day?

I have used Kalk and a BRS dosing pump with a timer for a little over a year on a 45.2 WaterBox as the sole method of cal and alk supplementation. It worked fantastic. As the demand increased the dose increased until the dose caught up with evaporation based on demand. The BRS pump was almost being used as a continuous duty pump at this point with several small breaks over a 24 hour period. PH remained between 8 and 8.3 running .5 gallon of Kalk over a 24 hour period daily. At this point, over a 2 month period I started topping the system off with, All For Reef on top of the normal Kalk dose to maintain alk and cal. That worked well but the intent was to transfer every thing to my shallow 75 anyway. I plan to use a Kamoer continuous duty pump for my ATO with with Kalk. Then maintain with 2 part in the 75.

So Brandon did you ever end up getting this going? @Mickeyt1reef did you ever set up the continuous duty pump?

I still have this burning sensation in the back of my head telling me to get kalk going. I have an extra BRS dosing pump sitting around just not sure that it's the best option. Debating doing it at night while still doing ESV B-Ionic during the day.

Yes see my build thread. Everything was transferred to the 75 shallow. Dosing kalk 24/7.

I’m still running kalk on my ATO. It’s not as consistent but still works well. Whenever I upgrade I will be using a kalk reactor 24/7 though. It’s a great additive and I think you’ll appreciate its benefits!

I'm definitely going to employ it. I'm just debating pump options. I think I'll try to roll with the BRS pump and do it every hour or half hour. Eventually would love a versa when they become available again.

Yeah the versa would be the way to go once you can get your hands on one!

I have a Red Sea 200xl. I drip a l.2 liters a day with a total of 48 doses. I want to increase to 1.5 liters because I am still evaporating more than I dose. My ALK stays in the 12 DKH range without any additional 2-part but I have to add about 5 ml a day of calcium to stay at 440 calcium

Never a downside to kalk. You usually hit a wall with top off limits or precip. You then just adjust the balance with two part dosing.

I just dose kalk on a drip using a kamoer fxstp alongside of a CaRx. This combo has never served me wrong and always love the PH boost from the kalk. I feel it is the best 1-2 punch solution.
I just started dosing Kalkwasser with a Kamoer pump I was going to use for calcium reactor. I’m a little to early for reactor so figured I would use the Kamoer for kalkwasser for now.

I would check your pH probe first as 7.3 seems excessively low.
