Just received my electronic heater controller
It's a PENN A421
Looking for a rock solid industrial option I came across this and figured I would give it a shot

Another good one is the Aqualogic from Pentair. It has a titanium probe as well. I’ve been using one for. A few years and it’s spot on.

Hard to go wrong with an industrial quality unit. I believe the aqualogic is a rebadged ranco.

I looked at them both, this was a $75 option without cordage. this will be stand alone and I have a Neotherm that will be on a controller just in case. I looked for a titanium probe. totally forgot about Pentair Aqu. anyway I bought some clear shrink tube with adhesive, if you have never used it it is lined with heat activated adhesive and will seal the connections and is water tight, Not sure how it will handle salt water tho.

I have done anything with an industrial probe (just used them as-is) and they have have lasted for decades. Some people do have problems so the plastic shield is probably a good idea, but these are fantastic units that make a hobby-grade probe look like a toy.
