heater suction cups are insufficient, ideas?

I bought 2 200w titanium heaters from BRS. While I don't have water in my sump yet, the suction cups that came with the heaters won't stay down on the acrylic? Don't want to use superglue for obvious reasons. Any tips?
 
I can lay it flat, but when I push the suction cups down, they lift back up.
 
As others have stated, magnet mounts are an option, but, also, if your trying to set everything up dry, your suction cups will do a terrible job sticking. Add water and theres a high chance this issue goes away.
 
For testing purposes, i'd add just enough water into your sump to cover the suction cups and try seeing if they'll stick again
 
install the suction cups with silicone, that will make them stick and they won't fail. can still be peeled off later if desired. use aquarium safe silicon.

I 3d printed this. Same problem, hate the suction cups.

Did you wet the suction cups? The water helps the cups stick
 
I’ve gone so far as to cut a few rectangles of plastic sheet (in my case, 3mm polycarb), drilling large holes in the center of each…

I then installed rubber hole grommets on the heater, and worked the drilled polycarbonate rectangles into each grommet’s groove…

—this yielded a pair of plastic omnidirectional “legs”, which prevent the titanium heating element from getting into close proximity with any sump acrylic!

(The rubber in direct contact with the heating element is inherently thermoset, and requires substantial temperature to start thermal degradation!)
 
Thanks Kooma. Going to try a little water int eh sump, then silicone. If that doesn't work, I found the file on thingaverse. Appreciate the tip!
 
Yall are trying too hard. Just add a drop of silicone to the bottom of the suction cup. They will remain attached until you pull them off.
