Hi everyone

i am currently using a 100w heater for around 55L of water - genuinely unsure on water volume but rough estimation

i want to cut this down as 100w for this volume is probably too much PLUS the heater is in my main display as it does not fit within the AIO

the 50W would only fit i believe laying down as the AIO chambers water levels aren't always the same and i do experience higher / lower water at times

the question basically is could i use two 25w heaters within my AIO to do the heating or a singular 50W with a 25w on hand for redundancy?

thanks!

The rule of thumb is 3-5 watts per gallon. So you have a 14 gallon tank, so IMO a 50 watt heater is plenty for your tank.

Have a look at nicrew or Aqeuon heaters, they are plastic heaters that are about half the size of the eheim heaters. I use them both for about a year now without any issue.

ill get them both onto a inkbird i have one spare laying around - trust me i worried every day with the 100w heater but it was only temporary as my last heater blew luckily i noticed fast
2-25 watts, but I always recommend plugging them into an INKBIRD controller for safety as heat kills fast.

i actually used Aqeuon ultras on my freshwater tanks i genuinely forgot about the brand since i haven't had to look at them in ages
