Hmm.. Merry Christmas to me. Hopefully not another bad decision.

Haha, good for you. My IM should be here this month. Will be hanging the lights I got from you soon. Where is the Miracles tank at?

So I’ve been working on gathering supplies/getting things ready lately. Not having much luck on the sump though as UPS did a number on it with cracks to nearly every side and chamber. CS replied promptly when I emailed them today so hopefully we can get the ball rolling on a replacement pretty quickly.

I think I got all my plumbing ordered.. knock on wood! also got a couple of sicce 3.5 for dual returns.

Been playing around with aquascspe ideas and have been trying to get my pukani rock as clean as possible. I did cut a couple boulders up and I felt a little ashamed while doing it but I like the results so far!

Light ordered and on the way. With probably my 2 biggest influences being the success I had when I first started keeping coral and the second being @Big E it’s probably easy to guess what brand.
Also ordered new return pumps as I didn’t like the noise from the sicce syncra silents. Instead hopefully I’ll be running 2 sicce syncra sdc 3.0s side by side.
Heater is also on the way from IM, went with the 700W and a 3yr warranty.
My next decision is do I try to plumb a Clarisea in with the start of the tank or hold off. Intank pumps(not sure which) and then a skimmer(probably reef octopus 150sss space saver).

Finally an update!

I run the varios on my tanks, never had a single issue.

For clarisea, I will plumb at the beginning when everything is dry, just more convenient. It does take space in the sump, so will help you figure out placement for all other equipment.

for pumps, can’t beat vortechs. (Even though I am still ticked from a few years back they made me pay for a new MP60 wet side which malfunctioned). Apex pumps are also nice, I have some used ones stored as backup if you want.

I didn’t go with varios cause they were just a tad bit larger than I wanted. I do think I’ll go with the sicce sdc 3.0s, I’m hoping they are as good as varios brand.
I’ve thought a lot about 2 mp40 s but good ole German engineering just keeps bringing my attention back to tunze. Aesthetics are a big part of the decision though so we’ll see.

Lights hung! Haha absolute mess in and around the tank though. I’ve been debating a switch in sumps for ease of adding a filter roller but I just am not sure it would be with it.
I need to collect up all my rocks and get scaping. Also need to get my water making system together then I can fill this bad boy up.

Plumbing is mostly back together just need to fit the new pumps in. Can also start to think about aquascaping with the tank empty and rocks in hand.
pulled the par meter out and found solid 250 par throughout the bottom of the tank with only 6 bulbs and no water..

Mail.. from BRS. My first ATO reservoir came with a broken drawer.. no fault of BRS cause it comes packed in styrofoam, in a box which is also styrofoam into place inside another box. Regardless I got the package and took a few pics. Sent the pics to CS and within hrs I had an order confirmation.. it was so fast I actually thought to myself let me open this email cause I’m not sure what this could be.. hmmm. My wife and I were on our way out of town so I showed her the email and even she was impressed. It took 8 days from initial order which was late on 01/31
Guess I should add that I used BRS flat rate 1.99 shipping.
