It's great they are doing well together, hopefully that continues!
TBH your experience with them not being able to be kept together more than a year has me a bit worried. I too hope things continue well!
 
Wow this is something i dont think ive ever seen or would ever try because of the cost. Im glad to see that someone out there has found some success in pairing them. They are a beautiful fish. I had one several years back that was sold me as a purple firefish from some random LFS back in NY. i was so excited and ive never had that type of luck again lol
 
That's what happens when they are not a pair.
Thats what happens when ur doing tank maintenance and freak them out...were paired for months even slept in the same cave.
For what its worth i have a purple whom i thought dead chased /stuck in the rocks for 4 months....broke tank down and he dropped out from the last rock i pulled. Skinny and frayed but alive... i still have hopes he lives and will unwedge himself.
 
Fancy. My LFS got a bunch in today... they all paired up. Lol
