Ive had the helios controller with 2 BRS 300W titanium heaters running for a month now, and this morning is the second time I've seen the temps down. In the low 70s. Display showed the low temp E4 error on the screen. I power cycled to reset, and it showed power to both heaters but in the 30 minutes I had to check the temperature didn't go up. Is this a problem with the helios? Or with the heaters themselves? For an emergency back up i moved an old finnex titanium heater and controller over to get the temps back up in the display for now. I have my wife watching tank temps as i had to leave for work.

Only a guess, but likely the heaters themselves. Likely on their way out.

Put the finnex on the Helios and see if it reacts correctly as a test.

I agree. Put another element on it and see if it works. If you have a meter, see if it's actually drawing power when on.

Alright, ill check this when I get home. It is frustrating as these are brand new, just been running for a month.

Thanks to both of you for the quick responses!

You got it. I just put my new one on the tank a couple weeks ago with the elements from them so can't tell you reliability long term. So far, so good.

Fun part now will be figuring out which of the brs heaters is bad. Ill have to swap them out one at a time and see if i can find the culprit.
