Welcome to R2R!;) I run one of my tanks with UV and the others without. Honestly between my tank with an algae scrubber and the one with UV I really don't notice much of a difference. But I would definitely recommend a refugium, scrubber, UV or a combination. Its too hard to say ill change the water every week when I travel like I do. My 80 lagoon system has an auto water changer that changes 2 gallons every day in a 80 gallon system even with that the scrubber made one heck of a difference.
