My name is Brian and I am new to the hobby. I watched one to many episodes of Tanked back in July, got a wild hair up my you-know-what, got a 40 gallon off of Craigslist and got started. I'm currently running a FOWLR with 4 blue damsels, 1 Bangai Cardinal (the other 3 were bullied to death by the bd), and a skunk shrimp. I'vebeen reading a lot about the hobby and thought it was anout tine I joined a forum to help me learn more, especially since I just picked up a 90gallon that I'm now totally obsessed over (seriously, this is addicting). I might try coral in it after its well established, but I'm concentrating more on equipment than anything cause ill be moving across country in about a year, so I might just wait.

Anyway, I live in the Olympia area of Washington, and was wondering if there were any reefers in the area that I could learn from and share in the joy of the hobby with.

Also, I know that learning is the best weapon, so, any suggested books?

Thanks

Welcome aboard. There is so much to learn, it takes years and years of study. A couple good books are: "Book of Coral Propagation" by Anthony Calfo, "The Coral Reef Aquarium" by Tony Vargas, "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Robert M. Fenner.
