Hi, This is Ali from CA.
It's been a while that I've brought a very small piece of ocean to my house and running a 10 gal aquarium.
I faced a serious crash last week and joined here to get some urgent help but it was too late and lost most of my fishes.
The tank was running for about 6 months. It was about a few weeks that I was having a brownish cloudy type algae in the tank and despite of changing water and removing it, it was persistence. So, I searched over the net a bit, and found out PhosGuard may help.
In the morning I did another 10% water change, removed the algae again and added the Seachem PhosGuard is instructed on its label to the filter (inside a bag).
About two hours later I noticed my fishes are breathing very fast and heavy. The firefish goby jumped out of the tank and I noticed this is very serious.
I instantly removed the phosguard and desperately did change another 50% water change but it was too late. I lost my lovely clownfish, firefish goby, tailspot and the chromis.
The inverts are in good shape though.
Still devasted and wondering what I did wrong. I have leaving with those fishes for a while and loved them as my own children
