I would recommend you start with live rock. Very aged live rock if you can find a source. It will just go smoother and faster.

Hi there! I’m thrilled to be getting back into the hobby. Two decades ago, I started a marine tank but then sold everything. Now, I’m back and planning to set up a reef tank. I want to do things right and take my time. I’ve got the Red Sea Nano G2 XL on the way, and I’m also getting live dry rock. Do you have any recommendations or tips for the cycling process? Thanks!
