Hello from Massachusetts

Hey whats up.

My name is Doug and I am an addict.

I've been in the freshwater and aquascaping hobby for nearly 2 decades now. During that time have built and bred many amazing tanks and fish but I was always terrified of the world of salt water. It seemed so complicated and scary. My wife had been begging me for years to build her a saltwater tank and I finally gave in. Usually when I get into hobbies I go for the hardest way to do things first because I am completely stubborn and when I get and idea and a vision I must do. This initial vision was twin nightstand saltwater tanks. 6 gallons each. The exact opposite of the start with a bigger tank because it's easier to control advice I got from literally everyone that I have talk to about it. So going against everyone as usual I bought 2 Fluval Premium Betta 6 gallon AIO. Why did you I start with those you ask? Because I got them for $35 bucks each from Petco. That was the beginning. Both of the tanks have flourished and I have added a 3rd 6 gallon "Aquascaped" reef and and a 17 gallon cube.

Hi Doug, since you are in Massachusetts and trying out a micro size reef tanks. I would suggest paying Tropic Isle in Natick/Framingham a visit. They have a 5 gallon micro tank with soft corals on their checkout counter that has been running for at least 3+ years now. Worth asking what they do to keep the tank in great shape.

Yeah those are great shops too. Almost forgot Love the reef now has just setup a small tank in their shop too. It’s about 15 gallons from Hello Reef brand. Yeah ReefEx has loads of beautiful corals and also try Dong at AcroGardens as well
