Hello from Northern Virginia

Hi All,

I've been reefing for almost about a year now and love every moment of it. I am a member of a few local reef clubs in my area and also a member to several online forums, I've always been a lurker on R2R and finally decided to make an account officially. Whoot whoot!

Let's take you along my journey of the 'simple' and 'low-cost' tank that I told my wife I was going set-up... to what I have now.

This was my first saltwater tank that I started back in end of December 2016, a 15 gallon:

This is my upgraded tank now, IM25. Knees deep into reef keeping...

Then I decided I needed to re-scape the entire tank and went for a minimalist look with Pukani rocks from BRS. Took me hours scaping this. Currently curing in a tub, it's been about a month now.

If that's not enough to annoy the wife. I also started my 2nd project... IM10 tank

Any who, those are my two tanks for now.

Welcome to a great place. I started mid dec. 2016 and like you knee deep. Have a 66 gal AIO, a 39 gal display refugium (Not yet plumbed) and a fish qt along with a coral qt. Yeah, knee deep.... Love your build and your new scape.

Thank you for the warm welcome all. Feels like I am already part of this community :)

Really appreciate the comments on my new rockscaping.
It literally took me countless hours of chiseling, rotating, cursing, lots of cursing, and making a huge mess in my small apartment to even make it what it is.
I hope it'll look okay once I get the big piece in the IM25.

I will start a thread to those who wants to follow along this re-scaping journey of mine.

Welcome, I am in Northern VA as well. What local clubs are you in I have had trouble finding any around here!

I'm in WAMAS and MDRC, which, both clubs cover a good portion of NOVA.
I believe WAMAS has their Octoberfest meet coming up this weekend. Look them up to find out more info.
