Okay... glad to hear that you're doing your homework before buying anything.

But again, you should decide what fish you want FIRST. Then you make your equipment purchases based on the fish you want.

40 gallon breeder tanks are a great choice. They offer lots of flexibility. But I'd hate to see you buy it, only to be told "no" when you ask if you can put a purple tang in your tank, because it isn't big enough.

I now have a list of 12 potential corals for the 40 gallon breeder- so my next questions are: 1. How many corals is a reasonable amount in a 40 gallon breeder 2. Are there compatibility problems between corals as there are between fish? If so, what corals are compatible with a wider number of other specimens?
