So I think I'm just going to go the 2x4 route. I think I should be able to use just regular 2x4s, make a box for the top and bottom and have it supported what the heck 2x4s in between. Plywood skin. Around 36" high, so 51" with tank?

Tank is 15x15x15" , 15 gallons

Thoughts?

I'd assume ether would be okay. My logic would say framing nails because they were made for loads like that.

You'd think the son of a home builder could tell you.
Lol... mines a carpenter

Woods cut... think I need vertical bracing on a tank this small all the way top to bottom?

Assembled but no plywood yet.... how do I skin it so the edges end up nice?

Like do I make the plywood top bigger by the thickness of the skin? What about the gap that will be visible then? I am awful at finishing work, so this will be the hard part.

And yes I know it's overkill, but it won't move.

I'd nail the thick plywood to the top. Glue a little.
Then measure and cut the skin around that and glue it on.
