that is how my nems started to look with bacterial infection , losing tentacles and looking weird cipro is what saved them. First pic it was sick , after cirpo it got healthy and split can see next two pics

I have Cipro on the way. You must be doing something right to have you nem split. :)

theres no way to know fosure , could be bacterial , chemical ware fare , parameter swing causing weakened immune system leading to bacterial infection. Ime wild nems seem way more susceptible to this thing than captive bread nems. It’s a slow decline it could have been sick since before you bought it

Typically, if this was some sort of sickness, usually does the nem become more hardy? For those of you who have used antibiotics, has anyone seen a reinfection or sickness?

Need advice. So I've completed a ten-day antibiotic treatment utilizing Cipro and Sulfa/Trime based off the sticky thread in this forum. The nem started to look good growing back some tentacles and getting color back. Its been 5 days since I stopped treatment. Since I stopped the treatment, the nem seems to have regressed. During dark hours, the nem lays on its side stretched out, mostly closed-up. When I turn on the light, the nem contracts/shrinks. It's tentacles are shrunken-up just like when it first got sick. Sometimes his mouth is closed but seem like more than 50% of the time, his mouth is open. The nem will not eat. I did a 100% water change to see if that would help but no change in his behavior. The water params are good. When I picked him up yesterday to move him to a temporary location for the water change, he felt hard. He has always felt like jello. The pic below is from when I first turned on the lights today. Any advice? Anyone experienced this before?

Sorry man I don’t have much help , you stated it was doing better during treatment? Maybe need to use a higher dose of cipro as it wasn’t enough to best out the bacteria infection in the anemone

Not an anemone expert, but is it possible that it just need time to recover? And the best thing to do right now is keep stable parameters?

I've never seen mine look like that... interesting. In my experience, they will definitely move themselves if something is bothering them (like the turbo snail). Mine doesn't care when my cleaner shrimp hangs onto its base, but moves anytime my diamond goby shovels around its foot... I've learned the hard way to not move nems unless they're headed towards a powerhead or overflow. Mouth closed and not expelling guts is a good sign but, I'm no expert. I've had mine a couple months too. Hope it's ok! Wish my clowns were interested im mine lol.

Thanks for the info. The latest update: I put him in the hospital tank and with Cipro for few weeks. Moved him back to the main tank and he is much better. Growing tentacles back. I believe he is totally bleached so need to figure out how to get zooxanthellae back into his tissue. Seen a couple of methods. Here is what he looks like today. Clowns are so happy he is back.
