Help ASAP Overflow

I'm at the lfs ordering a tank and he offered a drilled through the back overflow or the traditional corner overflow. Is one better than the other?

I think it will depend on how you decide to return the water :-)

Me personally would drill the back for a coast to coast :)

What was the failure of the original tank?

It busted a leak on the bottom somewhere. Not really sure if the cause but it was a huge mess. Working on a refund now :)
