Hi -

Was hoping someone could tell me what this is on the underside of one of my chalices. It's now actually coming through to the front of it. Thanks in advance!

Vermetid snail, actually . . .

"Vermes" is, IIRC, the Latin for "worm", so a vermetid snail is a snail that resembles a worm. These guys craft a "net" of mucus that captures drifting food items. It can sometimes annoy corals, and usually annoys reefers.

+1 on vermetid snails. get some reef safe epoxy or superglue stat and apply to their tube "mouths". Otherwise you might get an infestation and lots of dead coral.
