HELP! Chipped glass, still safe???

Just gave this tank a rinse before setting it up and managed to chip the glass! Looks pretty superficial but it’s in the bottom corner. What do you think?

This bottom of tank corner? If so, I wouldn't chance it. When you fill with water pressure of the water eventually will crack it more.

yes it’s a small tank but over time it could fail and you lose everything
those tanks are pretty inexpensive especially if used

From my research if its a shallow "scallop" chip then it's fine. The scallops don't expand.
But if it's a crack, then definitely no go as the cracks can continue on, reach further and expand.

Here's a 60 I have plumbed into my system. I bought it used and when I brought it in I didnt cushion it in the dolly I used and didn't even notice I had done this until later. It's been a few years. But you can see one of the scallops clearly. If it a deep scallop nearing the internal silicone between the glass sheets then I may have opted to ditch the tank.

Looks like there is a hair line crack on the bottom left reaching upward. If so, I wouldn’t trust it on the bottom pane.

Thanks everyone for the replies! Unfortunately, I don’t have much choice but to use it at this point. I honestly think it is just a scallop and not an issue. Looks like most of the glass is still intact where the silicone joints are. But again not much choice as I tore down my other tank today as I was setting this one up I will keep an eye on it. I think that’s all I can do for now.

A good chance holding water. Do a water test filling it outside with freshwater 24-48 hours. You will ten know

I have a 160 gallon with a large chip in the bottom corner that’s been set up for 7 years

You can use the light cured cyanoacrylate they use to fix chips in windshields for extra peace of mind. I would use it myself even though I am an acrylic tank fan for this reason.
