I think I received a funky batch of salt as when I transfered to my 75 gal display with 100 gal total volume system my alkalinity is only 6.5. I made up a batch of the randy holmes Farley alk with 297 grams of baking soda on 2 gal of RODI water per the website.

After that there are no more instructions so I used the listed calculator and got the results shown.

Personally I'd break it into 4 doses and dose twice a day over two days.

So 71.25 ml twice a day for two days
I usually just use dry baking soda mixed with RODI in the quantity I need to make up and then use Randy's mix for continuous dosing.

But yes, if your calculations are correct.

My question though: you stated above that you mixed 297 grams with 2 gallons of RODI?

Also, keep in mind that a 100 gallon aquarium does not have 100 gallons of water in it. When I was running my old 135 gallon plus 30 gallon sump, when the rock, sand, air space above the water, and sump equipment were all taken into account I had 100 gallons of water total.

In my 70 plus sump I estimate around 60-65 gallons of water.

80gallon tank with 30 gallon sump so figured 100 to be safe may be a little less plan on ordering new salt and doing water change anyway just want to get somewhat leveled out

So essentially I could put 4.8 tsp in 1 gallon of RO and use it to top off for same results ??

I usually do 1.5 tsp in a cup or cup and a half of RODI and mix it good then slowly add it to the sump. Baking Soda mixes easily so it doesn't need a lot of water to mix with.

I'm not positive but I believe Randy's recipe is likely to make it easier to dose - 1mL calcium dosed to 1mL alkalinity dosed.

It raises my alkalinity approximately 0.5 dKh per 1.5 tsp in my tank. I also dose 30 mL or so of Randy's 2 part daily spread out over 20 doses.
