HELP! Clownfish randomly died!

Time zones…

That doesn’t really happen. You’d have to really clog up the gills for them to suffocate, and a blockage in the digestive tract would lead to somewhat noticeable GI issues.
So should I just keep this clownfish and maybe get another one? For the other one should it be smaller or bigger?

I had a clownfish jump a while back before I added a lid on the nano. I replaced it with a considerably smaller one and now they are happily together. When one of the pair dies, if it isn't already female, it will become the new dominant female. If you want another, definitely get a smaller one, not larger.

I agree, that clown looked young so they weren’t mated, I would say get a clown and get it as small as you can, (obviously not newly hatched though)

You can keep it unpaired or get a new one. It’s totally up to you. In one tank I have an unpaired perc, and my other has a pair of demon occelaris. Make sure the new guy is significantly smaller to avoid issues (similar size will fight for dominance, smaller guys know their place).

Ok, it’s pretty young so I might wait a little and pick up some other fish instead first
