have a couple new clownfish in a newly established 33 gallon reef, I’m fairly certain one of them has parasites, the other one is perfectly fine though. He has white stringy poop and is getting skinnier, he doesn’t eat well either.

I’d like advice on how to approach this.

Parameters:
0ppm ammonia
0ppm nitrite
5ish ppm nitrate

Everything else in the tank is fine, I have fritz paracleanse, seachem focus, metroplex, kanaplex and fritz bioguard at the ready.

Any photos under white lighting would help greatly. Do you notice if he has like an indention on the side of his head above his eyes? Also, white poop can be caused by high protein diet, I think. I am fairly certain it is very common in clownfish, mine have white poop but are perfectly healthy. The eating less could be a sign but since you have two, it could just be stress from them possibly mating? That is my best guess

There are indentations or at least it seems like it, maybe it’s just the patterns throwing me off but I will get better pictures shortly. Thank you

Pics are dark and fuzzy. You tube video would be best utilizing bright white light intensity, No Blue

Here is a somewhat bad pic but you are Able to see what I am describing

Look on the white stripe top
Please again add pics with White only, No Blue lighting. Pinched may be associated with how this this fish is. What foods are you feeding as weight loss could be cocidea but also excess mucus in the stomach especially if feeding fatty foods such as Mysis shrimp

Mine doesn’t look like he’s in that bad of shape to the level of that guy. He is tough to photograph but it’s mostly just him being skinny, not eating and having white stringy poop
Please post video

Sorry this was just an example of hexamita one of my clownfish had a while back, this one died after like a week of having it. I was just using it as an example so the OP could have an idea of what it looks like.

In video, this looks to be excess mucus, and are you by chance feeding brine shrimp and /or mysis shrimp exclusively?

I’m feeding tdo pellets, nls pellets, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, other flakes too.
Likely, its the foods which are mimicking internal issues

Ok, what should I feed them instead? He isn’t gaining weight and is in fact losing some. Thanks for the advice by the way.
As long as fish is eating, a good food source is LRS fish Frenzy, plankton, flakes and Chopped krill as examples
